Condition

Here’s a fascinating piece of mid-70s folk rock history that deserves more recognition among collectors. Colin Scot’s self-titled 1977 release on Import Records represents one of those beautiful moments when an artist perfectly captures the transitional sound between the introspective folk movement and the emerging album-oriented rock scene. Scot, a Scottish-born singer-songwriter who made his mark in the American music scene, crafted an album that sits comfortably alongside contemporaries like Stephen Stills and Neil Young, with crystalline guitar work and thoughtful, often melancholic songwriting that reflects the post-Vietnam, post-Watergate mood of the era.
